STUDENTS TRAVEL AWARDS
(for students from Institutions of Higher Education in the United States)
Dear Colleagues of the U.S. SHM Community:
The University of Pittsburgh, through a travel grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation, is awarding ten $1,000 travel grants to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at any Institution of Higher Education in the United States to attend and present a paper at the 10th European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM 2022).
To be eligible, the student (no restrictions on nationality) must be the first author of the paper, must attend and present a paper at the Workshop, and have the paper accepted in the Workshop Proceedings.
To compete for this Student Travel Award the following documents should be submitted in a single PDF file via email to me at pir3@pitt.edu on or before January 15th 2022:
– 1 page abstract (with paper title and complete list of authors and affiliations);
– 1 page short-bio of the applicant;
– copy of the applicant’s University ID.
When sending the email, please write in the subject line EWSHM 2022 Abstract Submission for Travel Grant. For convenience, name the attached PDF file with the abstract ID generated by the OCS Springer submission system at the moment of the abstract submission and the last name of the applicant, e.g. ID0123_Rizzo
The applications will be reviewed by an ad-hoc committee outside the University of Pittsburgh.
The winners will be notified via email on or before April 2nd, 2022 and the grant will be awarded in the form of a travel expenses reimbursement after the completion of the Workshop. Instructions about the submission of travel expenses will be provided with the award notification. Eligible expenses are Workshop registration; airfare; lodging.
Candidates from underrepresented US minority groups and women are strongly encouraged to apply for this Travel grant.
